dc.description.abstractIn this chapter, the use of recorded video material and online connection to external experts is suggested to bring some of the real-life context and situatedness of a practice back into the formal classroom. Apprentice learning is a form of situated and embodied learning that cultivates the learner into the community of practice. While situated in informal learning contexts, it is closer to the professional practice of subjects that are taught in a more distanced and applied form in the classroom. By bringing experts from the field into the classroom, some of the situatedness can be imported, even through live video connections. The chapter exemplifies this through a case in clay-throwing practice and introduces useful concepts and practical suggestions for teachers to use in their classrooms.en_US
