Kamkeramikk

Abstract

I denne avhandlingen er det gitt forklaringer på hvordan man kan arbeide utforskende med tekstur i leire for å løfte frem og synliggjøre tidlig, nordlig kamkeramikk, og på hvordan elever i utforskende arbeid med tekstur i leire kan tilegne seg bedre forståelse for begreper knyttet til tekstur.

Det er brukt en kvalitativ tilnærming med abduktiv analyse, av empirien som først og fremst tok utgangspunkt i tidlig, nordlig kamkeramiske elementer. Avhandlingen tar også for seg østsamisk mønsterdekor og østsamenes bærekraftige høsting av elveperler i nyere tid. Beskrivelser og fortolkninger er gjort utfra både hermeneutikk og fenomenologi som vitenskapteoretiske retninger. Den fenomenologisk – hermeneutisk forskningsmetode medførte at min kunnskap om tidlig, nordlig kamkeramikk også ble tilegnet gjennom erfaringene med å gjenskape deler av den kamkeramiske dekoren og gjennom den kroppslige erfaringen under arbeidsprosessen med å forme leirkar, forberede og utføre brenning av leirgods i grop og tønnebrann.

Avhandlingen inneholder refleksjoner rundt betydning av leire som materiale i læreplanverket for Kunnskapsløftet 2020, og muligheter for å løfte frem tidlig, nordlig kamkeramikk i undervisningssituasjoner, både i praktisk estetiske fag og gjennom tverrfaglig samarbeid. Avhandlingen består også av betraktninger angående hvilken betydning tidlig, nordlig kamkeramikken kan ha for faget duodji, med tanke på historie og mønsterdekor.

In this thesis, explanations are given on how one can work exploratively with texture in clay to highlight early, northern comb pottery, and on how students through exploratory work with texture in clay can acquire a better understanding of concepts related to texture.

A qualitative approach with abductive analysis has been used which was based on early, northern comb pottery in Eastern Finnmark and East Sami pattern decoration of recent times. Descriptions and interpretations are based on both hermeneutics and phenomenology as scientific theoretical directions. The phenomenological - hermeneutic research method meant that my knowledge of early, northern comb pottery was also acquired through the experiences of recreating parts of the comb pottery decor and through the bodily experience during the work process of shaping clay vessels, preparing and firing clay ware in pits and barrel fires.

The thesis contains reflections on the importance of clay as a material in the curriculum for Kunnskapsløftet 2020, and describes possibilities to highlight early, northern comb pottery through teaching in school, both in practical aesthetic subjects and through interdisciplinary collaboration. The thesis also consists of considerations regarding the significance of early, northern comb pottery for the subject of duodji, in terms of history and pattern decoration.
