dc.description.abstractA system has been built for the purpose of automating parts of the assembly process. The system consists of a robot arm with a corresponding controller that has been programmed to handle a variety of tools. These tools are all mounted on an automation cell that has been built in this project and allows the robot to assemble reflectors onto probe heads using a thixotropic adhesive. The project has been largely successful in automating the assembly process, and the system will be implemented as part of a production line after the project is finished. In addition, a multivariate analysis was conducted to find the reason behind the variance in the system's performance.
