Sammendrag
In a world where success is measured by how much material someone owns, and how much more they can make. It Has become rare that People have any time to stop and enjoy nature around them. And if it does happen and people do visit nature, not many will be connected to nature on a deep and meaningful level. This disconnection can lead people to abuse nature for their own wellbeing. My research project aims to deepen people’s relation to nature and make a meaning out of this relation. In my research project, I will use storytelling as a main tool to try to connect people to nature. Or, to make their already existing connection to nature even deeper and more meaningful. Storytelling for me was always a source of morals and values. I believe that my deep that my deep connection to nature goes back to the fact that I grow up listening to nature stories. My perspective and thoughts about nature were shaped by story listening. All of this made me think of a way to include storytelling and outdoor activities to strengthen people’s connection to nature. Therefore, I gathered four regular nature goers, to participate in a one-day outdoor workshop where I included storytelling in an unorthodox way. I had the participants take a pre and post workshop questionnaire. Findings from this research shows important potential. The data collected from the project suggests that using the natural surroundings and environment might increase people’s connection to nature and make it deeper and more meaningful. By giving participants the chance to have new perspectives towards nature and a chance to reconsider their relationship with nature.
