Abstract

Masteroppgaven består av en teoretisk del bestående av analyser og arbeid med voksrullopptak etter Margit Tveiten fra Grungedal og Kari Dale fra Seljordhei. Den praktiske delen er et musikalsk duosamarbeidsprosjekt med musikeren Frøydis Grorud. Det praktiske prosjektet består i musikalsk bevisstgjøring rundt stil, interpretasjon og formidling relatert til de erfaringene jeg har høstet i arbeidet med voksrullopptakene og i utøvelse av musikk gjennom øving, konsertering og innspilling.

This thesis has a theoretical section based on analyses and work with wax roll recordings (phonograph cylinders) by Margit Tveiten from Grungedal and Kari Dale from Seljordhei. The practical section involves a musical duo project with musician Frøydis Grorud. The project aims to raise awareness around style/interpretation and how to communicate the experiences I have gained through working with the wax roll recordings and through practising, performing and recording the music.
