This study investigates whether firms’ operational performance, economic performance and internal green supply chain management practices are the pre-requisites in accomplishing environmental performance in the third party logistics provider context. The data is collected from the 181 third party logistics providers in Turkey and the ordinary least squares (OLS) analysis is used to test the hypotheses. The findings have confirmed that the firms’ operational performance, economic performance and internal green supply chain management practices are needed by the business firms to enable them in improving their environmental performance as they have significant positive association towards firms’ environmental performance. The prior relevant literatures have emphasized on how environmental performance is able to increase firms’ overall level ofcompetitiveness. Thus, this study becomes prominent as it complements those previous studies by introducing a distinct insight regarding the pre-requisites in accomplishing environmental performance
