Kor, kveding og improvisasjon: Arbeid med stiltrekk i norsk vokal folkemusikk med metodikk fra konseptet The Intelligent Choir

Abstract

Dette er en praksisorientert studie av arbeid med vokal folkemusikk i amatørkor. Utgangspunktet er norsk vokal folkemusikk og fokus på arbeid med spesifikke stiltrekk gjennom metodikken «The Intelligent Choir»; et musikkpedagogisk konsept innen studiet «Innovative Choir Leadership»/Rytmisk korledelse ved The Royal Academy of Music i Aalborg, Danmark. Korpraksisen er forankret i et helhetlig musikalitetssyn og inviterer korsangerne til å ta medansvar for den musikalske prosessen gjennom improvisasjon som pedagogisk verktøy. Det praktiske arbeidet dreier seg om hvordan helhetlig rytmisk innlæring kan være en hensiktsmessig metodisk tilnærming i detaljarbeid med estetiske stiltrekk og bidra til økt kvalitet i øvingsprosessen og den estetiske formidlingen. Arbeidet belyses gjennom konseptet «Rytmisk korledelse» sin grunnfilosofiske forankring i tillegg til flow- og performance-teori.

This is a practice-oriented study of work with vocal folk music in amateur choirs. The starting point is Norwegian vocal folk music with a focus on working with specific stylistic features through the methodology The Intelligent Choir; a pedagogical concept within the study «Innovative Choir Leadership» at The Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg, Denmark. The choir practice is rooted in a holistic view of musicality which invites the choir singers to share responsibility for the musical process through improvisation as a pedagogical tool. The practical work is about how holistic rhythmic learning can make an appropriate methodological approach, through detailed work with aesthetic stylistic features, and thus contribute to increased quality in rehearsal work and aesthetic expression. The work is illuminated through the Innovative Choir Leadership concept's basic philosophical foundation in addition to flow and performance theory.
