dc.description.abstractA laboratory CO2 capture rig at USN was used as a demonstration plant to show the feasibility of Raman spectroscopy for online monitoring of speciation in CO2 capture process. The spectroscopy was integrated to lean and rich amine streams and experiments were carried out in dynamic and steady state conditions. Multivariate models were used to predict the speciation with time. Predicted CO2 and MEA concentrations were compared with offline analysis and the ion speciations were compared with a thermodynamic model. Results indicated that the Raman spectroscopy together with chemometrics based approach is an effective tool for online monitoring of speciation.nb_NO
