dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this paper is to discuss the purpose and role of Technology and Design education, and to present the results from a case study on the topic. The motivations are the fact that modern Technology and Design constitute important part of our culture, and make strong influence on innovation and development in our society. Education also deals with formation of identity, attitude and behaviour, and about empathy and the enthusiasm we need to lead the development of our society in ways that serves humanity and our environment in the best possible way. For this purpose we chose study how Kongsberg municipality in Norway makes effort to educate the younger generation about Technology and Design through a centre outside the regular schools.
